Poor Baby

Josiah has been really congested for 3 days now. Poor little man. We have been using saline rinse and a humidifer and he is finally sounding better. However, he has given it to me so I feel blah. I know that I may catch whatever he gets but I was really hoping it would be awhile before that happened. Oh well.

Last week was a good week. My co-workers threw me a baby shower. Thank you guys. It was great to see everyone. I loved getting to show little man off. I am going back to work on June 7th - next week! I love my job and everyone I work with but I am not ready to leave my little man. If you think about it, pray for me. It is going to be really hard. I am sure I am going to be a basketcase when I have to leave him. I already want to cry. However, I am blessed that I will only be working 3 days though to ease me back into it.

Little man is now seven weeks old and is sleeping 5 to 6 hrs a night. He sleeps from 10 or 11 till 3 or 4 in the morning. We are slowly making progress. He usually goes back to sleep very easily and will sleep till 10 or 11 am after waking up around 7 to eat again. I am hoping that I can function at work next week not being able to sleep until 10.  :)

Here are some pictures from last week.

Sweet baby fingers! Little man has quite the grip!

Josiah loves his Monkey Playmat! He stares and stares at the red giraffe.

Sleeping on mommy when he doesn't feel good.

He may not feel good but he is still happy!

Six Weeks

I can't believe that Josiah will be six weeks tomorrow! The time is flying by! This past week was busy. Tuesday Josiah went to the doctor. He weighed 11 lbs!! He is huge! I can only imagine how much more he weighs almost a week later. He is solid. He has really been talking and smiling this week. He talked/smiled at the doctor and the doctor was suprised. He said that normally babies don't start cooing and smiling until 6-8 weeks. I am biased but I think my little man is pretty smart!

A quick update on little man's routine. He is staying up much more during the day. He is up at least 1.5 hrs between each feeding (every 3 hrs). He also goes 6 hrs between feedings at night every 3 or 4 nights. Unfortunately it has been from 7 to 1 am. Last night it was from 10 to 4 am. We are slowly moving to sleeping through the night even if it is every 3 or 4 nights. The longest he has slept in those 6 hrs is 4.5 hrs but we are getting there, slowly but surely.  He is also taking 3.5 to 4 oz every 3 hrs. No wonder he is so big. Hopefully soon we can put some rice cereal in his bottle to help him go longer at night. Josiah has also decided that he loves baths now. He likes the warm water running over him. Josiah has started to drool a little this week. My aunt was in town and she told me that all 5 of her babies started teething at 6 weeks. I am not ready for him to start teething. I am not sure if he is but he is doing everything else early so it would not suprise me. We will see.

We also had 2 baby showers this past week. The first was last Sunday. My best friend Kelly and my wonderful mother in law threw us a shower at our church. It was so great! It was an ABC theme. They did a great job! Thank you ladies! It was Josiah's first trip to church so everyone was happy to meet him.

Kelly made a Mickey Sport diaper cake for Josiah. It turned out great!

The second shower was yesterday with friends and family. My sisters and my mom threw it for us! It was a monkey theme and we got alot of monkey outfits. We are so blessed! Josiah is so blessed. Here are some pics.

My sisters made this diaper cake! So Cute!

My sister Liz made this cake! Isn't it great!

Josiah started out sleeping...

He woke up and met everyone...

But by the end, he had enough!

One Month

This week my baby turned a month old! I can't believe that time is flying by so fast. He is getting so big so fast. Tuesday, we had our first post placement visit from our adoption agency. Josiah cried for most of the visit. He woke up from his nap early when the lady got here because my dogs have big mouths. I felt awful. Other than that, everything went well. One down and 2 to go. Wednesday, was Josiah's one month old birthday. It was a quiet day. Thursday, my cousin gave birth to her little boy. Josiah and her little guy are a month apart. We are so excited that he is here now! He is absolutely precious. Josiah also started really smiling this week in response to voices! It warmed my heart. We were having a conversation, since he is the only one around, and he smiled at me. Later on Thursday my mom stopped by to say hey and I was talking to him trying to get him to smile again for her. He did twice. My little boy is growing up. I know that this is a small milestone but it made me happy.

My First Mother's Day

It was great! I am so blessed to be able to celebrate Mother's Day as a mother this year. Chris brought me breakfast in bed (fruit). Then he grilled BBQ Chicken for lunch. We went to see both of our mom's to wish them a Happy Mother's Day too! I hope all you moms out there had a great Mother's day!

Here are a few pics from this past week. Time is flying by. I can't believe I am already halfway through my time off with my little man.

Josiah loves starring at his elephant

Professional Pictures

We got Josiah's professional pictures in the mail this past week! They are so good. I am such a pushover when it comes to pictures. We thought the hospital had lost our pictures so when the Babies R Us lady said that they needed to practice on infants and I could get $25 worth of free pictures, I said sure! Well we got a lot of great pictures and it was way more than $25. And then the hospital found our pics. So we have both. Here are a few of my favorites!

Catching Up

Sunday was Josiah's first Easter. Of course, he had to have a Easter basket.

Josiah met so many more people on Easter. We had Easter lunch with Mimi and Poppy. Josiah met his Aunt Erica and Uncle Derek.

Then we went to my aunt's house for dessert. Josiah got to meet Nana's side of the family.

Aunt Liz

Auntie Kel-Kel

Monday Josiah went to see his pediatrician. The doctor said that he is doing great. As of Monday weighed 8 lbs 12 oz. At 2 weeks the doctor says they look to make sure he is at his birth weight. Josiah has surpassed his 8 lbs 4 oz birthweight with flying colors. Have I mentioned he is strong. Sunday he rolled from his back to his stomach on the bed. When he is upset, he pushes up with his legs until he is standing on me. I know I am biased but this little guy is strong! Here are some pis from the week.

My birth family bought me this outfit! Aren't I adorable!

I look so small in my swing! Thank you daddy for putting it together!

Our neighbors found this and bought it for me! Thank you guys!

I look so big in my newborn sleeper. I won't fit in this very long!

Daddy missed me after he went back to work Tuesday. I needed some Daddy time!

Wednesday - Josiah got his first bath in the tub. We had to wait to do anything but sponge baths until a week after his circumcision. He did ok at first. He was looking around thinking "what in the world". Then like a switch he started screaming. Once we got him out of his bath tub and wrapped up in a towel with a diaper on, I washed his hair in the sink. He loved that! Don't ask. I bath him in the tub and he hates it but I hold him head first under running water and he loves it.

Getting ready for my first official bath.

I don't like it...

But I don't mind this...

Look at my curls!!

I hope you enjoyed the update. Have a great night!
