Florida

We are in Florida!!! Our baby boy was born last night around 7:30. For those that do not know, we have been in the process of adopting since March 31st, 2010. It has been a long journey that I am going to spend the next few weeks journaling on my blog. My husband and I are so excited to watch God take tragedy and turn it into joy. We were able to care for a beautiful angel last October for a week. Her birth mom decided to parent after 5 days. In Georgia, the birthmother has 10 days to change her mind once she signs the consent. It was the hardest thing God has ever called us to walk through, but God has bigger plans and He was has been and will be with us every step of the way. We are thrilled that our first little girl has a mother who loves and cares for her. She will always be a part of our family. God has now opened the door for us to care for a sweet little boy who we are now on our way to meet!
I am so excited I can’t stand it! Sometimes I wish you could just transport yourself in seconds wherever you want to go. I guess that is the instantaneous American attitude coming out. Patience is a virtue that I am learning. The adoption process is definitely a lesson in patience. It consists of a lot of hurry up and waiting. But it is completely worth everything!
Below are some pictures of our packed car. I, of course, needed to bring everything to Florida. I want to be prepared (the first-time mom mentality right?). I know that I am not going to need half the stuff that I brought but you never know, right? My mom asked me yesterday while I was packing if I wanted to just hitch the house to the back of the car. I told her that I would if I could! So here are some pictures that I will not live down in the years to come.

We met our baby's birth family this afternoon. I will post pictures as soon as we get back. Please pray with us as we are celebrating this new life that God is entrusting to us. We are so thrilled that God has chosen us to parent this little boy. What a blessing!
